Kuala lumpur: Police have completed their investigation into rapper Wee Meng Chee, popularly known as Namewee, concerning the death of a Taiwanese female influencer last month. Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus confirmed that the investigation papers have been forwarded to the Deputy Public Prosecutor for further review.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the investigation papers are now with the Deputy Public Prosecutor, who will determine the next course of action. Namewee remains in remand, with an order extended until tomorrow. Initially, police secured a six-day remand against him on November 5, which was later extended by three days on November 10.
The victim, 33-year-old Hsieh Yun Hsin, was discovered deceased in a bathtub at a hotel on Jalan Conlay on October 22. Her body was subsequently taken to Kuala Lumpur Hospital for a post-mortem examination. The case was originally classified as a sudden death but has since been reclassified as murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code. Namewee is suspected to have been the last person seen with Hsieh Yun Hsin.
