Kuala muda: A 22-year-old man reported being robbed of RM30,000 in company funds by four men in an incident that took place yesterday.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Kuala Muda District Police Chief ACP Hanyan Ramlan revealed that preliminary investigations showed the incident occurred around 4.30 pm near the Sungai Petani Court Complex. The victim, however, only filed a police report at the Sungai Petani Police Station at approximately 7 am today.

The victim asserted that he was approached by four men in a car, leading to a confrontation with one of the suspects, who was armed with a folding knife. He claimed to have wrested the knife from the suspect during the altercation and subsequently stabbed the attacker.

The victim further alleged that the suspect's accomplices attacked him, causing him to fall, before the group absconded with the company funds and one of his bank cards. The police report was made only after the incident gained attention on social media.

The case is currently being investigated under Sections 395/397 and 182 of the Penal Code. ACP Hanyan mentioned that the investigation is ongoing and urged any witnesses to assist in the inquiry. The victim will also undergo a medical examination for injuries reportedly sustained during the incident.
