Kluang: A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being involved in online fraud activities during a raid on a residential premises here on Tuesday.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Kluang police chief, ACP Bahrin Mohd Noh, stated that the arrest was made by a team from the Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) and Kluang District Commercial Crime Investigation Division.
The authorities seized thirty mobile phones, cash amounting to RM82,571, twelve Touch 'n Go e-wallet cards, one gold chain, five gold bars, and one money-counting machine, with a total estimated value of approximately RM200,000.
Initial investigations revealed that the suspect had withdrawn proceeds of fraud from ATMs using Touch 'n Go debit cards. The case is being investigated under Section 424A/420 of the Penal Code.
Police are continuing their investigations to determine the duration of the suspect's activities and whether they were carried out independently or as part of a group.
