Kuala lumpur: Police raided 22 vape retail premises across the state during a two-day special operation, resulting in the seizure of 1,447 vape devices and 267.4 litres of vape liquid, with an estimated value of RM96,475.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Kelantan police chief Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat said the integrated operation, dubbed 'Ops Vape', was carried out by the Kelantan Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (JSJN) in collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and local authorities (PBT) from July 27 to 28.

He said the operation focused on detecting and inspecting premises selling vape products and arresting individuals involved in the distribution and sale of vape products containing drugs.

"During the operation, the police also arrested a Malay woman under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

"In addition, 1,447 units of vape devices and 267.4 litres of vape liquid that did not contain drugs were seized. Summonses and compound notices were also issued by the MOH and PBT according to their respective jurisdictions," he said in a statement today.

Mohd Yusoff said that the Kelantan JSJN will continue to intensify intelligence, monitoring, and integrated operations with relevant enforcement agencies to combat the distribution of vape products containing prohibited substances.

He added that strict action will be taken against any party that violates the law, while urging parents and the community to play their part in monitoring the behaviour of their children and not to take the growing threat of vape abuse lightly.
