Melaka: Melaka police have refuted a viral social media post claiming leave for personnel in the state contingent is frozen from Sept 20 until further notice. Melaka police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Dzulkhairi Mukhtar said the department detected the fake post on Facebook. "Melaka police strongly deny the claim," he said in a statement here today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Dzulkhairi advised the public not to speculate or share unverified information that could cause confusion. He emphasized that strict action will be taken under existing laws against anyone spreading false news on social media.

Earlier, a viral Facebook post claimed all leave for officers and personnel under the Melaka Police Contingent was frozen from Sept 20, 2026, until a date to be announced.
