Permatang pauh: Police seized 124 motorcycles and detained 10 individuals during a joint operation against illegal racers and road bullies along Jalan Permatang Pauh, Seberang Jaya here early this morning.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Central Seberang Perai district police headquarters reported that 638 summonses were issued for various offences during inspections of 371 motorcycles. "Eight individuals were detained under Section 42(1)(a) of the Road Transport Act and two under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952," the statement revealed.

The offences observed during the operation included riding motorcycles at high speed, riding against traffic, performing wheelie stunts, using modified exhausts, and causing disruptions to public order. The police emphasized that stern actions would be taken against individuals participating in such activities that threaten the safety of themselves and other motorists.
