Police Transfers Shake Up Senior Ranks in Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur: The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has announced the transfer of 39 senior officers, marking a significant reshuffle within the force. The changes took effect last Friday, as revealed in a statement by PDRM secretary Datuk Kamaruzaman Abdullah.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, one of the key changes includes the appointment of Kuala Lumpur deputy police chief Datuk Azry Akmar Ayob as the new Pahang deputy police chief. Datuk Mohamed Usuf Jan Mohamad, the former Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department deputy director (Investigation/Legal), succeeds Azry Akmar in Kuala Lumpur.

The reshuffle extends to other significant positions within the police force. Datuk Aida Abdul Hamid, previously the Bukit Aman Special Branch E9 principal assistant director, is now the principal assistant director for Bukit Aman Special Branch E6. Similarly, Datuk Mohd Hairuddin Che Hamid has transitioned from Bukit Aman Special Branch E3 to Special Branch E7 at Bukit Aman.

Datuk Kamaruzaman Abdullah highlighted further transfers, including DCP Azhar Sepawi's move to become the Bukit Aman Special Branch E3 principal assistant director. Meanwhile, Datuk Mohamad Zainal Abdullah takes on the role of Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department deputy director (Investigation/Legal) with an acting rank of DCP.

Additional major transfers include SAC Abdul Latiff Mehat's appointment as Johor deputy police chief, holding an acting rank of DCP. SAC Shamsul Amar Ramli has been appointed as the Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department deputy director (Cyber Crime Investigation) with an acting rank of DCP. Datuk Yusni Mohd Jamil, formerly Bukit Aman Special Branch E6A assistant director, now serves as the Bukit Aman Special Branch E5 principal assistant director.
