Policewoman Detained After Positive Drug Test at Kuala Lumpur Entertainment Venue

KUALA LUMPUR: A policewoman, aged 26, was apprehended during a drug enforcement operation at an entertainment venue on Jalan Tun Razak, following a positive drug test. The operation, named Ops Hiburan, was conducted in the early hours and led to her arrest after she tested positive for multiple substances.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Wangsa Maju district police chief ACP Mohamad Lazim Ismail announced that the policewoman, who is scheduled to return to duty in the Johor contingent following a leave, tested positive for amphetamine, methamphetamine, ketamine, and benzodiazepines. The drug test was conducted during the operation at 2 a.m. She was subsequently taken to the Wangsa Maju district police headquarters for further investigation, and the case is being pursued under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

The policewoman was held in custody for two days but has been released on police bail. The operation also scrutinized 66 other individuals, resulting in the detention of 11 foreign nationals for visa misuse offenses, as stated by ACP Mohamad Lazim. The enforcement action underscores ongoing efforts to curb drug-related activities and visa violations in entertainment centers.
