Prabowo Thanks Sultan Ibrahim For Prestigious Johor Royal Family Honor

Kuala Lumpur: Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto expressed gratitude to His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, for The Most Esteemed Order of the Johor Royal bestowed on him today. Prabowo stated that the conferment of the order signifies the close relationship between him and the King, as well as the entire Johor royal family.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Prabowo mentioned that his relationship with Sultan Ibrahim dates back decades, recalling that they have known each other for approximately 45 years since their school days in the United States. He shared these remarks during a joint press conference with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at the PETRONAS Twin Towers following their meeting.

Earlier, Sultan Ibrahim awarded the Darjah Kerabat Johor Yang Amat Dihormati I (The Most Esteemed Order of the Johor Royal I) to Prabowo. The investiture ceremony took place at Istana Negara and was witnessed by Anwar.

Prabowo also emphasized the similarities shared by the people of Malaysia and Indonesia, which he described as fundamental to the robust relationship between the neighboring countries. He highlighted that both nations are founding members of ASEAN and share historical, cultural, and ethnic ties, enhancing the special nature of their relationship.
