Kuala lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has proposed holding a special Parliament sitting to discuss the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report on Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) as soon as possible. He indicated that the date of this session would need the approval of Dewan Rakyat speaker Tan Sri Dr Johari Abdul.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar emphasized the importance of allowing Members of Parliament ample time to study the report, hear further explanations, and engage in open debate throughout the day. This announcement followed his engagement at the Temu Anwar program with over 2,000 Form Six and polytechnic students in Negeri Sembilan.

Anwar stated that the Cabinet's decision to conduct a transparent investigation into the matter included not only issues from 2014 and 2017 but also developments from 2018 to 2020, and the recovery measures implemented afterward. The Prime Minister further assured that he, along with other leaders including Ramanan, would continue to work towards ensuring the welfare of the community.

He addressed concerns raised by the Indian community, promising direct involvement in managing their affairs. Anwar encouraged the community to evaluate the performance of the Government MADANI based on its record of implementing initiatives rather than perceptions or claims.

Since taking office three and a half years ago, the government has introduced various policies and expanded access to financial, educational, and welfare facilities benefiting the Indian community. Anwar highlighted that for the first time in the nation's history, students achieving 10A, irrespective of ethnicity, would automatically receive places in matriculation.
