PRO-13 welcomes new police director


BUTUAN CITY: The Police Regional Office in the Caraga Region (PRO-13) has a new police director in the person of Brig. Gen. Alan Nazarro.

Nazarro, who officially assumed his new post during the turnover ceremony conducted at Camp Rafael Rodriguez in Butuan City on Thursday replaced outgoing police director Brig. Gen. Kirby John Kraft.

Nazarro is the former chief of the Highway Patrol Group before his new assignment to head PRO-13, while Kraft will be assigned to Camp Crame.

Kraft was lauded for his accomplishments as head of PRO-13 for more than 10 months, especially in crime prevention, crime solutions, law enforcement, and police-community relations that helped maintain peace and order in the Caraga Region.

Kraft’s leadership saw the seizure of 6,626 grams of shabu and 292 grams of marijuana worth around PHP61 million from 735 drug suspects arrested; the arrest of 405 most wanted persons and 2,263 other wanted persons;

The arrest of 69 and surrender of 291 New People’s Army members; the arrest of 125 s
uspects and confiscation of 652 loose firearms; and the confiscation of PHP8 million worth of illegally gathered forest products and the arrest of 207 violators.

‘PRO-13 will be in good hands with Brig. Gen. Alan Nazarro. I knew him since we were young lieutenants. Let us all welcome him in the Caraga Region,’ Kraft told the officers and personnel of PRO-13 in his message.

Nazarro expressed gratitude to Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief, Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil – who graced the turnover – for giving him the “opportunity and the trust and confidence.”

“In seven months and five days, I will also bow out from the PNP service. I want to assure all of you that during this period, I will give my utmost efforts to keep the course of PRO-13 and give the people of Caraga a leader who motivates and inspires in deeds and examples,’ Nazarro said.

Nazarro is the 22nd police director of PRO-13.
