Projects Under 13th Malaysia Plan to Receive Regular Monitoring to Prevent Delays

Kuala lumpur: Every project under the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) will be monitored regularly to ensure there are no delays in implementation, said Chief Secretary to the Government (KSN) Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar. Accordingly, he said the monitoring of projects under the 13MP will be jointly conducted by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economy, with reports to be made twice a year.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Shamsul Azri emphasized the importance of adhering to the planned schedule for the 13MP, which extends until 2030. He stated that all approved projects must be executed promptly to prevent disappointment among the populace. After officiating the MAPPA XX 2025 Run in Putrajaya, he also mentioned his commitment to personally visit sites and conduct surprise inspections of 13MP project locations.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, during the tabling of the 13MP in the Dewan Rakyat, highlighted the enhancement of the monitoring mechanism through the Policy Implementation Plan Monitoring System (PPD). The governance structure of the 13MP will be mobilized in stages, with reports being submitted to the Cabinet.

Under the 13MP, Anwar detailed that infrastructure and public facility projects, especially those concerning flood mitigation and road accessibility improvements, will be prioritized from 2026 to 2030. A budget of RM20 billion has been allocated for 103 Flood Mitigation Plan (RTB) projects to mitigate disaster risks and impacts. Additionally, the plan includes the construction of one million affordable housing units by the Federal and State Governments, as well as private developers, from 2026 to 2035, to provide safe and comfortable homes for the population.

Meanwhile, Shamsul Azri expressed appreciation towards the 12,000 participants in the MAPPA XX 2025 Run in Putrajaya. He encouraged active engagement in sports as a means to foster a healthy and prosperous nation.

Also present at the event were Public Service Director-General Tan Sri Wan Ahmad Dahlan Abdul Aziz and Ministry of Communications Secretary-General Datuk Seri Mohamad Fauzi Md Isa.
