Property Sector Transactions Hit RM240 Billion in 2025, Highest in Over a Decade

Kuala lumpur: The national property sector recorded RM240 billion in transactions in 2025, marking the highest value in more than a decade, as reported by Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming. This significant achievement highlights the sector's recovery and its role as a major contributor to economic growth.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Nga emphasized the importance of the property sector, stating that it is interconnected with 200 industries such as manufacturing, construction, banking, and legal services. The minister shared these insights during an event organized by the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT), attended by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Nga mentioned that KPKT, through the National Housing Department, aims to maintain this growth trajectory by implementing planned reforms in the housing sector. He expressed optimism for further growth if all stakeholders collaborate effectively.

Addressing potential challenges, Nga noted the ministry's vigilance regarding the Middle East conflict, particularly concerning its potential impact on transportation costs within the housing and construction sectors.

Additionally, Nga discussed a proposal with the Prime Minister to establish a single national housing agency to streamline processes, minimize bureaucratic overlap, and expedite administrative and approval procedures.
