PTM Mulls Legal Action Against Former Assistant Coach Keattisak Over Allegations

Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Boxing Federation (PTM) is considering legal action against former national team assistant coach from Thailand, Keattisak Teankam, for implying that the governing body was unfairly demanding payments from him. PTM president Datuk Iruan Zulkefli said the federation viewed the allegations seriously, describing them as lies and defamatory, which have tarnished the association's reputation.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, PTM plans to send a formal letter to the Thailand Boxing Association as a preliminary step. If Keattisak does not take down the video containing his allegations, the federation may pursue civil action. These comments were made by Iruan during a press conference where he addressed the concerns raised by the coach's recent video upload.

Iruan clarified that the disputed payment was related to house rental and an advance payment given at the early stage of Keattisak's service. He also mentioned that Keattisak has an outstanding debt of RM9,100 with PTM. Additionally, Iruan assured that the National Sports Council (MSN) had fulfilled its obligations by paying Keattisak's salary until the end of his contract this June.

MSN had recently paid Keattisak RM17,600 for the months of May and June, ensuring that no salary dues were left pending. Iruan emphasized that contrary to Keattisak's claims, it is he who still owes a debt to PTM.
