Kuala lumpur: The National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with My Digital ID Sdn Bhd to integrate the MyDigital ID digital identity into the myPTPTN application. PTPTN chairman Datuk Seri Norliza Abdul Rahim stated that this initiative aims to enhance efficiency and improve user experience for accessing online services.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the integration will allow users to conduct transactions conveniently, quickly, and securely from various locations such as their homes or campuses. This statement was made by Norliza at the MoU signing ceremony held at Menara PTPTN, where PTPTN was represented by its chief executive, Ahmad Dasuki Abdul Majid, and My Digital ID Sdn Bhd by its chief executive officer, Nik Hisham Nik Ibrahim. The event was also attended by other officials, including PTPTN chief operating officer Mastura Mohd Khalid and My Digital ID deputy chief executive officer Ir Ts. Azrin Aris.
Norliza mentioned that the strategic collaboration aligns with the government's National Digital Identity (NDID) initiative and the Malaysia Digital Economy Blueprint (MyDIGITAL), supporting public service transformation and the nation's digital economy development. She emphasized PTPTN's commitment to evolving into a progressive and customer-friendly digital organization, consistent with the country's digitalization goals.
The myPTPTN application, part of PTPTN's 2021-2025 Strategic Plan, promotes organizational dynamism and excellence through digitalization. As of October 15, over 2.8 million users have accessed the application, which facilitates loan applications, balance checks, repayments, and Simpan SSPN savings account transactions efficiently.
Nik Hisham highlighted that the collaboration supports Malaysia's digitalization agenda and strengthens the foundation for digital innovation in education. He noted that such efforts bolster public trust in digital transactions, contributing to the nation's digital economy advancement.
