Manila: Public satisfaction with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s performance has increased across all geographic areas and most demographics in the second quarter of 2025.
According to Philippines News Agency, the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey, released on Tuesday, revealed a significant improvement in the president's net satisfaction ratings.
The survey, conducted from June 25 to 29, showed that 46 percent of adult Filipinos were satisfied with Marcos' performance. Meanwhile, 36 percent expressed dissatisfaction, and 19 percent remained undecided, resulting in a net satisfaction score of 'moderate' +10. This marks a notable 20-point increase from the 'poor' -10 rating recorded in April 2025, reversing a previous downward trend.
The SWS survey highlighted an increase in Marcos' net satisfaction rating in all four major regions. Mindanao saw the most significant improvement, with a 35-point climb from 'bad' -44 to 'neutral' -9. Balance Luzon rose by 21 points, moving from 'neutral' +7 to 'good' +28. The Visayas and Metro Manila also experienced gains, with net satisfaction increasing by 9 and 7 points, respectively.
Urban and rural areas both saw better satisfaction levels, with urban areas experiencing a 27-point rise from 'poor' -14 to 'moderate' +13, and rural areas improving by 11 points from 'neutral' -4 to 'neutral' +7. Gender-wise, men's net satisfaction increased by 19 points, while women's rose by 21 points, both reaching 'moderate' levels.
Satisfaction levels also improved among most age groups, with those aged 55 and above recording the highest net rating at 'very good' +32, up by 23 points from 'neutral' +9. The 45 to 55 age group saw a rise from 'neutral' -1 to 'neutral' +5, while those aged 35 to 44 improved from 'poor' -13 to 'neutral' +5. However, the 18 to 24 age group remained the least satisfied, with a net rating of "poor" -18.
Educational attainment also played a role in satisfaction levels. Respondents with no formal education or some elementary education recorded the highest net satisfaction at 'good' +34, followed by elementary graduates at 'good' +21. Junior high school graduates reported 'moderate' +10, while those with some senior high school or college education were at 'neutral' -2. College graduates had the lowest satisfaction with a 'poor' -13 rating, though all education levels saw improvements compared to April 2025.
The non-commissioned survey involved face-to-face interviews with 1,200 adult Filipinos nationwide and carries a ±3 percent margin of error at the national level and ±6 percent in Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
