According to BERNAMA News Agency, Adam Adli stated that out of the 37 fatalities, 18 were due to accidents and 19 were sudden deaths. He emphasized that no criminal cases have been recorded, providing this information during a Dewan Rakyat question-and-answer session. The response was directed to Khairil Nizam Khirudin (PN-Jerantut), who inquired about student fatalities at higher education institutions over the past five years and the ministry's plans to enhance campus safety.

Adam Adli further mentioned that the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) has issued official directives to all public and private institutions to conduct regular, comprehensive safety inspections. These efforts aim to improve campus safety by reviewing safety systems, installing CCTV cameras, and ensuring secure pathways.

He also highlighted that the review encompasses safety and emergency standard operating procedures, including visitor access to dormitories and rapid response procedures. The ministry is in the process of developing a reference manual for the application and use of non-university-owned vehicles, in collaboration with Universiti Putra Malaysia and the Public Universities Student Welfare Task Force. This initiative seeks to ensure that vehicle use is organized, transparent, and compliant with safety, financial, and administrative standards.

Moreover, the ministry is strengthening cooperation with the Royal Malaysia Police and local authorities to boost security patrols, including in areas surrounding campuses. 'All these measures are designed to ensure that, in the short, medium, and long term, student safety is safeguarded and our campus communities remain secure,' Adam Adli concluded.
