Kuala lumpur: Visual art, reading and creativity are among the main attractions at the Pustaka Imaginasi Open Day 2026 being held at the National Art Gallery here today, featuring various activities including storytelling competitions, poetry recitals and cultural performances.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, National Art Gallery (Art Development Section) chief senior curator, Adinaquraisa Ibrahim @ Tan Rahim, said the event aims to introduce Pustaka Imaginasi as a visual arts reference centre to the public, particularly students and art enthusiasts. 'The Pustaka Imaginasi Open Day 2026, held from 9 am to 5 pm today at the National Art Gallery, features activities combining visual arts, reading, performances and creative programmes for visitors,' she told the media during the event.
Among the activities featured are storytelling competitions for Level One and Level Two pupils as well as a poetry recitation competition, with works from the national art collection used as reference materials for participants. Visitors are also treated to gamelan performances, traditional dances and choir presentations.
Meanwhile, SMK Bandar Baru Sentul education service officer Faten Razak, 32, said the school's participation provides an opportunity for students with special needs to showcase their creativity. 'The SMK Bandar Baru Sentul booth features handicrafts produced through an integrated education programme involving students with disabilities. Today's programme is very beneficial for them,' she said.
