Putra Heights Gas Pipeline Explosion: Technical Report Anticipated by June 26

Putra Heights: The technical report concerning the gas pipeline explosion and subsequent fire in Putra Heights, Subang Jaya, which occurred on April 1, is projected to be finalized by June 26. Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari indicated that the investigation report will be synchronized with the findings from the criminal investigation before it is made available to the public.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Amirudin emphasized the necessity of integrating the criminal and technical investigations due to pending areas that need clarification from the criminal perspective. He mentioned this after attending an e-Bike Handover Ceremony at the Selangor Police Contingent headquarters. The technical investigation, conducted by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), examines factors such as the integrity of the pipelines, ground movement, and any activities in the vicinity that could have exerted pressure on the gas pipeline.

As of May 27, Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan stated that both the police and DOSH investigation reports on the Putra Heights gas pipeline fire are anticipated to be released by the end of June. Hussein noted that the police investigation, which includes aspects of potential negligence or sabotage, has been completed, and they are awaiting the conclusion of DOSH's investigation.

The Petronas gas pipeline fire incident in Putra Heights, which began at 8:10 am on April 1, resulted in flames soaring above 30 meters high and temperatures reaching 1,000 degrees Celsius. The blaze took nearly eight hours to extinguish and left a crater 9.8 meters deep at the site of the incident.
