Kuala lumpur: Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, Queen of Malaysia, today graced the launch of the Children's Integrity Module (MIKa) at the Tabika Perpaduan Taman Bukit Cheras here.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Her Majesty's arrival at 9.45 am was received by National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, who is also the Malaysian Institute of Integrity (IIM) chairman, and Bandar Tun Razak Member of Parliament Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail. Raja Zarith Sofiah then launched the MIKa gimmick before visiting the classroom to witness a MIKa learning simulation and interact with the pupils.

Shamsul Azri, in his speech, said that the IIM developed MIKa to introduce integrity values to children, focusing on those aged between two and six. 'By 2030, we aim for the implementation of MIKa to cover the entire early childhood education ecosystem, encompassing more than 31,000 childcare centres, kindergartens, and preschools nationwide,' he said.

Shamsul Azri mentioned that the module was developed since 2024 with the involvement of 35 early childhood education experts, and received support from various ministries, agencies, higher education institutions, and organisations involved in early childhood education. 'I believe integrity does not stem solely from laws and regulations; it needs to be instilled from an early age so that doing what is right becomes a habit, trustworthiness becomes a guiding principle, and doing good becomes a practice,' he said.

He expressed hope that the launch of MIKa would mark the beginning of a larger effort to produce a Malaysian generation that is honest, trustworthy, responsible, and highly principled, alongside the role of parents in serving as role models for their children.
