Quran Memorisation Combined With TVET Enhances Role Of Huffaz: DPM Ahmad Zahid

Melaka: Combining Quran memorisation with technical and vocational skills not only makes huffaz more versatile but also creates greater opportunities for them to contribute actively to the advancement of the religion, race, and nation, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. He highlighted this initiative during the "Forum Perdana Ehwal Islam" themed "Developing a Generation of Skilled Huffaz," held in conjunction with the National Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Day 2025 celebration.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Zahid emphasized the importance of integrating TVET as 'fardu kifayah', a communal obligation essential for building a progressive ummah in today's world. He expressed his agreement with the notion that 'religion has never separated the factory, the workshop, and the mosque', underscoring the importance of a holistic approach to education.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted the encouraging presence of youth at the event, which he sees as proof that interest in a balanced educational approach is gaining traction among the younger generation. He further stated that efforts will continue to strengthen the production of skilled huffaz who are not only well-versed in divine revelation but also competent in navigating real-world challenges.

The National TVET Day 2025 celebration, launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at the Melaka International Trade Centre in Ayer Keroh, concludes today. The three-day event aimed to open new dimensions for the future of the Quranic generation by integrating technical skills with religious education.
