George town: The Raja of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalulail, today graced the 100th anniversary celebration of Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Wellesley here, which was his first primary school. Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin shared his fond memories of attending SK Wellesley in the early 1950s, recalling the disciplined environment enriched by the dedication of the teachers who guided him, laying the foundations of his character and identity.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin emphasized the significance of SK Wellesley reaching its 100-year milestone, marking a journey filled with history and service. He highlighted the contributions of educators, pupils, alumni, and parents in upholding knowledge, morality, and noble values among the nation's children over the past century.

Expressing pride in being part of this legacy as a Royal Alumnus, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin noted that SK Wellesley is not just a learning institution but a foundation that instilled values of respect, responsibility, and compassion. His Royal Highness officiated at the centenary celebration alongside the Raja Perempuan of Perlis, Tuanku Tengku Fauziah Tengku Abdul Rashid, and other notable guests.
