Rantau panjang: The Immigration, Customs, Quarantine, and Security Complex (ICQS) in Rantau Panjang here recorded a total of 37,413 border movements between September 12 and 16.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Rantau Panjang Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) deputy commander Bakri Sulaiman stated that out of the total, 16,704 were inbound movements, while 20,709 were outbound. "On a typical day, the number of people entering and exiting Rantau Panjang ICQS is around 3,000 to 4,000," Bakri explained.
He further reported that on September 13, which was a Saturday, there were 2,903 entries and 4,384 exits. Notably, the number of exits increased to 4,648 on September 14, a Sunday. Bakri attributed the increase in movements at the ICQS to the school holidays and the Malaysia Day public holiday.
"AKPS, along with other security agencies, will continue to strengthen control measures to ensure smooth operations and the safety of visitors at the border checkpoint," he added.
