Seremban: Negeri Sembilan PKR Leadership Council chairman, Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, announced that the re-election for the Jempol division chief will take place this week. This decision follows the discovery that the recent winner of the position remains a member of Pejuang.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the PKR vice-president stated that the decision was made by the Central Leadership Council (MPP). Aminuddin emphasized the importance of the re-election, explaining that a detailed investigation confirmed the current winner’s membership with Pejuang, which necessitated her removal to maintain the party’s integrity.
Aminuddin further mentioned that the party is now assessing all division heads and will take similar actions if similar situations arise elsewhere. The Jempol division chief election had seen Azizah Salim Shah secure victory with 450 votes, surpassing Manivanan Gowin, the political secretary in the PKR president’s office, who received 248 votes. Other candidates included Muhammad Asri Abdullah with 83 votes and K. Mariappan with 52 votes.
