Karangan: The RM800 million allocation spent by the government through the Early Schooling Aid (BAP) for students nationwide is the result of the implementation of targeted subsidies. Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail stated that this amount represents a significant commitment by the MADANI Government to ensure that no child drops out of school simply due to financial constraints.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Saifuddin Nasution emphasized that the implementation of targeted subsidies has been crucial in reducing leakages, enabling more prudent management of national funds. The surplus from these savings is then redistributed directly to the people, aiming to enhance the benefits reaching the intended recipients. He expressed his hope that such measures would continue to be strengthened to ensure effective distribution.
During a visit to Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Taman Mutiara in Karangan, Saifuddin Nasution presented a mock check for BAP amounting to RM116,400. He highlighted that for the state of Kedah alone, a total of RM50,500,350 has been allocated for BAP, benefiting 336,669 students. This demonstrates the government's dedication to supporting education and ensuring that financial barriers do not hinder students' access to schooling.
