ROAD CLOSURES IN IPOH FOR WARRIORS DAY CELEBRATIONS, INTERNATIONAL RUN

IPOH, Several roads in Ipoh will be closed and diverted in stages starting this Sunday due to the state-level Warriors Day celebrations and the Ipoh International Run 2024.

Ipoh police chief ACP Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said road closures for the Warriors Day rehearsal, from Sunday to Tuesday, will begin at 7 am until the rehearsal concludes. Road closures during the rehearsal will be implemented progressively based on current needs.

On Warriors Day next Wednesday from 7 am, the closures will affect Jalan Kuala Kangsar (Syariah Enforcement Division office, Perak Islamic Religious Department) Jalan Panglima Bukit Gantang Wahab, Jalan RM Aziz and Jalan St. John.

Motorists are advised to plan their journeys and use alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion, he said.

For the Ipoh International Run, road closures and diversions will start from 3 am on Sunday until the event concludes.

Roads affected include Jalan Ghazali Jawi, Jalan Kamarudin Isa, Jalan Ashman Shah, Jalan Raja Dihilir, Jalan RM Az
iz, Jalan Panglima Bukit Gantang Wahab, and Jalan Dato’ Maharajalela.

Additionally, Jalan Tun Sambathan, Jalan Sultan Yusof, Jalan Sultan Idris Shah, Persiaran Greenhill, Jalan Sultan Abdul Jalil, Jalan Chin Choon Sam, Jalan Cecil Rae and Jalan Kompleks Sukan will also be closed during the event, he said.
