Rohana has returned US$10 million, assets linked to 1MDB

Former chief executive officer of Astro Malaysia Holdings Berhad, Datuk Rohana Rozhan has returned US$10 million and assets linked to 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) fund to the Malaysian government.

According to a Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) source, all the money including the assets were returned to the government last year after investigations by the agency were completed.

“The investigations found that Rohana had no knowledge of the source of the funds linked to the misappropriated 1MDB money sent by former Goldman Sachs Inc partner Tim Leissner.

“As such, Rohana voluntarily returned the entire amount of money and assets to the Malaysian government.

“So, investigations involving Rohana in relation to the 1MDB funds is over and no further legal action was taken against her,” said the source.

MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki when contacted confirmed that the US$10 million has been returned.

To date, about 70 per cent of 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) assets and funds, equivalent to about RM28.93 billion have been successfully recovered.
