Ronan Auge Placed in Medically Induced Coma Following LTdL Crash

Pandan Indah:French cyclist Ronan Auge has been placed in a medically induced coma following a crash during Stage Six of Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) 2026. The accident occurred in the early stages of the Pandan Indah-Rembau route.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Auge's condition is stable, and he is currently under close medical supervision. The 22-year-old was immediately taken to the hospital after the crash, with the Unibet Rose Rockets team doctor staying by his side to ensure continuous monitoring.

Joram Grootveld, the sports director of Unibet Rose Rockets, stated that Auge sustained several fractures in the crash. He emphasized the need to take Auge's recovery one step at a time, expressing hope for a positive outcome.

The team has released a medical update via their official social media, confirming the seriousness of Auge's injuries but reassuring that his condition is not life-threatening. They also conveyed that they are maintaining close communication with the medical team in Malaysia.

The 30th edition of LTdL is set to conclude tomorrow with the final Stage Eight, spanning 188.3 kilometers from Muar to Putrajaya.
