Kuala lumpur: The Rotary Club of HartaMas, in collaboration with Kita Pelari Malaysia and the KLCC Runners Group, is set to host two significant community health and advocacy events in September and October that aim to promote peace, unity, and public health awareness.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Peace Run and Walk 2025 will take place on September 28 at Dataran DBKL. This event is organized in conjunction with International Peace Month and is designed to foster unity, compassion, and a peaceful future through community engagement. Following closely on October 26, the End Polio Run and Walk 2025 will be held at the same venue. This event is aligned with International Polio Month and focuses on raising awareness about polio, supporting global eradication efforts.
Globally, Rotary has been a champion of the End Polio Now campaign since 1985, playing a pivotal role in efforts to eliminate polio worldwide. Both events seek to unite Malaysians from various backgrounds under the shared themes of peacebuilding and public health. Part of the proceeds from these events will support the End Polio Now campaign and the Rotary Club of HartaMas's Children's Cancer Programme, which provides essential support to children battling cancer.
In celebration of Rotary Membership Month in August, these events also strive to raise public awareness of Rotary's mission and encourage more Malaysians to engage in meaningful community service. The president of the Rotary Club of HartaMas, Harrison Jub, emphasized that these events are about more than fitness; they are about mobilizing Malaysians to create a meaningful impact. Jub stated, "When we run for peace, health, and hope, we don't just cover distances -- we close the gap between despair and healing. Together with our partners Kita Pelari Malaysia and KLCC Runners Group, we are honored to move with purpose."
The events are open to runners, walkers, families, corporate teams, and youth groups, featuring a variety of community-focused activities on-site. Participants will receive event kits that include race T-shirts, finisher medals, and goodie bags. Additional activities will feature fitness sessions, community booths, and engagement opportunities for all ages. Registration will soon be available through RaceXAsia and Checkpoint Spot, with opportunities for corporate sponsorship packages and media partnerships.
