Rubber Tapper Admits to Machete Attack Causing Grievous Hurt

Kota bharu: A rubber tapper has admitted guilt in the Sessions Court for voluntarily causing grievous hurt by slashing a man with a machete. Noradin Ibrahim, 54, entered his plea before Judge Zulkifli Abllah.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Noradin was charged with inflicting severe injury on Ahmad Firhan Hadi Hamzah, 44, using a machete at a residence in Kampung Kulim, Pasir Puteh, around 6 pm on October 28th. The charge falls under Section 326 of the Penal Code, which carries a potential prison sentence of up to 20 years, along with possible fines or whipping upon conviction.

Judge Zulkifli denied bail for the accused and scheduled the sentencing proceedings for December 3. The prosecution was led by Deputy Public Prosecutor Nursyafiqah Mohamad, while Noradin appeared in court without legal representation.
