Kota kinabalu: All revenue received by Sabah from the Federal Government will be channelled back to the people through various forms of incentives, assistance, and development, says Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor. He emphasized that the increased interim special grant payment of RM1.5 billion would be fully utilised for infrastructure improvements and welfare initiatives across the state. According to BERNAMA News Agency, Hajiji highlighted that the funds would be used to build more paved roads, concrete bridges, and improve water and electricity supply throughout Sabah. Welcoming the Federal Government's decision led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Hajiji stated that the development and welfare agendas such as the construction of Rumah Mesra Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) units and the Sentuhan Kasih Rakyat (SYUKUR) program would benefit from these allocations. The Sabah state government received RM600 million of the RM1.5 billion interim special grant payment from the Federal Government on June 12. Hajiji also mentioned the state's focus on financial performance and revenue collection, maintaining annual collections at RM7 billion since 2022, with expectations to increase to RM8 billion this year. He expressed confidence in Sabah's economic resilience, making it a strategic investment destination despite facing various domestic and global challenges.
