Sabah Election: Amanah Finalising Candidate Numbers Amid Negotiations

Butterworth: Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) is in the process of finalising the number of candidates it will field in the upcoming Sabah state election, scheduled to take place next month, as stated by Vice President Adly Zahari. According to BERNAMA News Agency, Adly mentioned that the party has already identified several potential candidates, but negotiations are ongoing with their partners in Pakatan Harapan (PH) and other allied parties such as Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) and Barisan Nasional (BN) regarding seat allocations. Adly, who also serves as the Deputy Defence Minister, addressed reporters after attending the Graduation Ceremony and Launch of the Armed Forces Fund Board (LTAT) Wira Entrepreneur Empowerment Programme at the Butterworth Air Base. He emphasized that while the exact number of seats Amanah intends to contest remains undisclosed, the selected candidates are locals with strong community connections. The Election Commission (EC) has set November 29 as the polling day for the Sabah state election. The nomination date is slated for November 15, with early voting scheduled for November 25. The Sabah State Legislative Assembly comprises 79 seats, of which 73 are contested, while the remaining six are appointed State Assemblymen (ADUN).
