Sabah Flood Victims Down Slightly to 396

Kota kinabalu: The number of flood victims in Sabah dropped slightly to 396 people from 124 families this afternoon, compared with 400 people from 125 families this morning.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Sabah State Disaster Management Committee released a statement detailing the current situation in the affected areas.

The statement highlighted that there are 242 victims from 73 families in Penampang. In contrast, the number of flood victims in Beaufort increased to 154 people from 51 families. In Penampang, the victims have been accommodated at three temporary relief centers. These include the Penampang Sports Complex, which is housing 31 people from five families, Dewan Huguan Siau with 147 people from 49 families, and Sekolah Kebangsaan St Paul Kolopis, where 64 people from 19 families have taken shelter.

In Beaufort, all the victims have been relocated to the permanent relief center in Selagon. The statement further revealed that a total of 22 villages have been impacted by the floods, with 14 villages in Penampang and eight in Beaufort experiencing the brunt of the disaster.
