Sabah Polls: Mohd Shafie Retains Senallang Seat

Kota kinabalu: Parti Warisan president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal has retained the Senallang seat in the 17th Sabah State Election.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Election Commission (EC) reported that Shafie, who is also the Member of Parliament for Semporna, secured the seat with a majority of 6,837 votes in a four-cornered contest.

Mohd Shafie faced off against three other candidates: Datuk Marunda KK Ampong of Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS), Mohd Lipai Samsu Sundalu of Parti Impian Sabah, and Abdul Majid Angkulan of the Malaysian United People's Party (BERSAMA).

In the previous state election held in 2020, Mohd Shafie claimed the Senallang seat with a majority of 4,631 votes, showcasing a significant increase in his winning margin this time around.
