Sabah State Election: PH-BN Seat Distribution Finalised, PH-GRS Talks Nearing Completion

Kuala lumpur: Negotiations on the distribution of seats between Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) for the 17th Sabah State Election are at the final stage, said PH secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail. In addition, Saifuddin Nasution, who is also the Home Minister, confirmed that negotiations between PH and Barisan Nasional (BN) have been completed.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Saifuddin Nasution stated, "I can confirm that the allocation of seats between PH and BN has been completed. PH and GRS are now at the final stage, and as the PH secretary-general entrusted with this responsibility, I will finalise it soon." He added that he was in Kota Kinabalu last week to conduct these negotiations, noting that such discussions typically require more than one round to conclude. He assured that once the negotiations are finalised, the media will be informed promptly.

The Election Commission (EC) has set Nov 29 as the polling day for the 17th Sabah State Election, with nomination day scheduled for Nov 15 and early voting on Nov 25. Regarding potential three-cornered fights in the election, Saifuddin Nasution mentioned that it was too early to make such predictions, indicating that assumptions at this stage would be premature.
