Sabah’s Development Rejuvenation Under GRS Leadership: Hajiji

Kota kinabalu: Gabungan Rakyat Sabah's (GRS) dedication to enhancing development and amplifying state revenue over the past five years has placed Sabah on a promising trajectory, stated its chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor. The Chief Minister emphasized the comprehensive strategy of the GRS-led Sabah government, which encompasses the economy, infrastructure, well-being, education, and human capital development, alongside a firm commitment to addressing inherited water supply issues.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the GRS administration has invigorated economic activities in various sectors and provided substantial education assistance across Sabah. This initiative marks the largest education aid in the state's history, with expenditures nearing RM1.3 billion in five years, accompanied by increased scholarship funds. Furthermore, a commercial cooperation agreement with Petronas has significantly boosted state revenue, which now exceeds RM8 billion, compared to RM3 billion at the onset of their governance.

Hajiji shared these insights with reporters after overseeing the handover of 1Borneo subsidiary grants to the United Sabah Islamic Association (USIA) at Menara Kinabalu. He also expressed confidence in GRS's prospects of securing more than 40 out of the 55 seats it is contesting in the upcoming 17th Sabah State Election on November 29, citing robust party machinery, grassroots support, and coalition cooperation as key factors.

The coalition's development-focused approach, including initiatives like a monthly RM300 cash aid for 100,000 recipients and the Rumah Mesra Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) programme, is expected to positively influence voter decisions. Hajiji urged voters to make informed choices to ensure continued progress for Sabah.

Addressing viral allegations of corruption in mineral mining, Hajiji dismissed them as politically motivated and baseless, clarifying that the government had rejected applications for mineral exploration, leading to the release of these videos. He stressed the need for discipline and respect from those entering the state for livelihood opportunities.
