Kuala lumpur: Former Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri M. Saravanan arrived at the Kuala Lumpur Court Complex today to face charges under the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Act.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Saravanan, 58, arrived at 8.26 am accompanied by his officers. He is expected to face charges related to the quota for the recruitment of foreign workers under Section 16 of the MACC Act 2009, which involves soliciting, receiving, giving, promising, or offering bribes.

Members of the media and the politician's supporters had gathered at the court complex grounds as early as 7.45 am to follow developments in the case. A check of the court system showed that the case against Saravanan would be mentioned before Sessions Court Judge Azura Alwi at 9 am.
