Searah Malaysia Takes Over Production Sharing Contracts From Petronas Carigali

Searah: Searah (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, the Malaysian operating entity of Searah Ltd, has assumed operatorship of key production sharing contracts in Malaysia from Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd effective July 1, 2026, after fulfilling all conditions precedent.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Searah (Malaysia) stated that the successful transition positions Searah (Malaysia) as the operator of five major upstream assets, forming part of Searah Ltd's wider regional portfolio of 19 assets in Malaysia and Indonesia.

Searah (Malaysia) chief executive officer Mohd Johan Ariff Mohd Supian said the commencement of operations reflects months of dedicated planning, integration, and collaboration. He emphasized that their focus remains on operating safely and reliably, creating long-term value for stakeholders, and building a strong foundation for Searah's future growth.

Searah Ltd is a 50:50 joint venture between Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) and Eni, aiming to bring together selected upstream gas-producing and development assets across Malaysia and Indonesia. In Malaysia, Searah operates through Searah (Malaysia), which manages selected upstream assets in Peninsular Malaysia and Sarawak, supporting the continued development of the nation's energy sector.
