Selangau-Mukah Flyover Set for Phased Reopening Amid Safety Concerns

Selangau: The Selangau-Mukah flyover, a vital segment of the Pan Borneo Highway, is set for a phased reopening once safety is assured, as stated by Nanta during a recent inspection of the site.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Nanta addressed public concerns surrounding the flyover's closure, emphasizing that feedback from the community, via traditional news outlets or social media, is crucial, especially concerning user safety on this critical highway.

Nanta highlighted three immediate priorities in this situation: ensuring uncompromising safety standards for all road users, closely monitoring the repair schedule to prevent unnecessary delays, and providing the public with clear and precise information regarding alternative routes, current closures, and the progress of ongoing work.

Acknowledging the significant inconvenience caused to commuters, particularly those residing along the Bintulu-Mukah-Sibu route, Nanta reiterated that safety must be the top priority before reopening can occur. He assured that he would personally oversee the reconstruction efforts at the Selangau-Mukah Interchange, with a commitment to reopening the lane only once safety is fully restored.
