Selangor: The Selangor government will continue its School Assistance Programme next year, allocating RM30 million in the Selangor State Budget 2026, announced Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari. The funds are intended to improve school infrastructure and create a conducive learning environment for students.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the allocation is the largest to date and will benefit six types of schools, including Sekolah Rendah Agama, Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina, Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil, Sekolah Kebangsaan, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan, Chinese private secondary schools, and missionary schools. The state government anticipates that this incentive will enhance teacher and student motivation to achieve educational excellence. Amirudin highlighted that 873 schools had already benefited from the assistance this year.
In response to recent bullying incidents in schools, Amirudin stated that the state government plans to implement a programme with the Parent-Teacher Association (PIBG) in all Selangor schools. This initiative aims to eradicate bullying and crime in educational institutions.
Furthermore, the state government has committed to continuing the subsidised KAFA Integrasi fee of RM30 per month for each B40 student, whose average household income is RM3,000 or below. Amirudin expressed hope that this assistance would alleviate the financial burden on parents and guardians, allowing children to continue their Islamic religious education without constraints. For this purpose, the government has allocated RM5 million to cover the KAFA fee subsidy assistance.
