Selangor: The Selangor government is convinced that its affordable housing agenda can be realised through close ties with the federal government. Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said the government's commitment is translated through various initiatives, including Rumah Idaman Selangor that offers quality residences complete with basic furniture at affordable prices, Smart Rent that aims to help the younger generation to rent before buying their own home, and Dana-Sel that reduces the burden of home purchase deposits.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Amirudin stated that Rumah Harapan and Rumah Mampu Milik (RMM) projects are continued to be strengthened to ensure more Selangorians can afford comfortable homes. He shared this information in a Facebook post today. Furthermore, Amirudin mentioned that a report on the status of existing projects has been presented at the National Affordable Housing Council meeting chaired by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in Putrajaya yesterday.
The meeting served as a crucial platform for discussing significant issues regarding the preparation, planning, and coordination of affordable housing policies in the country. It also aimed at outlining new measures to strengthen these policies in line with the Malaysia MADANI agenda. Amirudin expressed optimism that with close collaboration between federal and state governments, the affordable housing agenda can be reinforced to ensure the well-being of residents in Selangor and the entire nation.
