Selangor Plans to Double Visitor Numbers at Sultan Alam Shah Museum

Selangor: The Selangor government is making detailed plans to double visitor numbers at the Sultan Alam Shah Museum to 200,000 people by the end of this year. State Housing and Culture Committee chairman Datuk Borhan Aman Shah said the success in attracting visitors through various series of exhibitions since reopening early this year has given new life to the museum, which was closed for six years.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Borhan stated that the state government had initially targeted 100,000 visitors, but the number has already surpassed expectations, especially during the 'Pameran Anak-Anak Sidek' exhibition. With three months remaining, additional exhibitions and events, including those related to the upcoming Malaysia Games (SUKMA), are planned to continue drawing visitors.

Borhan also mentioned plans for a meeting with the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) to present a proposal for an exhibition on superstitious beliefs, aiming to scientifically address these elements for better understanding by the current generation.

Previously, Borhan, along with Mohd Iqbal Mohd Noor from the Prime Minister's Department's Property Management Division, visited Kampung Sungai Lang Baru as part of the Santuni MADANI programme. The Sultan Alam Shah Museum, which was closed for upgrades from 2019 to February 2025, is currently offering free admission to all visitors for three months.
