Shah alam: The Selangor Entrepreneur Expo 2025 (SELBIZ 2025), organised by the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS), aims to achieve RM1 million in sales and draw more than 25,000 visitors during its three-day run at the Shah Alam Convention Centre (SACC).
According to BERNAMA News Agency, State Youth, Sports and Entrepreneurship Committee chairman Mohd Najwan Halimi highlighted that the fourth edition of the expo is attracting growing interest from both entrepreneurs and the public, with more than 100 exhibitors offering a range of products across manufacturing, retail, and services. With the theme 'Usahawan Cekap Digital', SELBIZ 2025 serves as a platform for MSMEs to demonstrate their business potential and strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem through technology to boost sales.
SELBIZ is noted as the largest entrepreneurship expo in Selangor and is designed for entrepreneurs to build, strengthen, and expand their business networks. Participating entrepreneurs are encouraged to embrace digital technology and social media to position their businesses for a wider market.
Present at the event were PKNS Group chief executive officer Datuk Mahmud Abbas and PKNS entrepreneur development manager Yuzawati Yusof. Mohd Najwan stated that nearly 90 per cent of MSME entrepreneurs in the state had adopted or were using online or cashless transaction methods in their operations. The state government has allocated RM1 million for training programmes on technology use in business next year to further promote online transactions.
Training in the past focused on business initiation and licensing, but now the focus is on technology-based training in collaboration with agencies like the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade) to empower entrepreneurs.
Mahmud expressed confidence in SELBIZ 2025's potential to attract visitors, particularly from Shah Alam, and enhance the competitiveness of local entrepreneurs, thereby contributing to Selangor's economic growth. He noted that after three editions, SELBIZ has recorded around RM10 million in sales transactions, and with engaging activities this year, the targeted RM1 million in sales can be achieved.
SELBIZ serves as PKNS's primary platform through the Entrepreneur Development Division (BPU) to strengthen Selangor's entrepreneurial ecosystem. It also provides opportunities for entrepreneurs to penetrate markets, expand business capacity, and build networks with customers and strategic partners.
In addition to business activities, SELBIZ 2025 features family-oriented programmes, including the SELBIZ Family Fun Run, an e-sports competition, a children's zone, and over 200 lucky draws throughout the expo. Other attractions include the SELBIZ Gempak Concert featuring popular local artistes and special performances by animated mascots like Didi and Friends and Umar and Hana.
