Serian District Police HQ Records Very Unhealthy Air Quality Index In Sarawak

Kuala lumpur: The Serian District Police Headquarters (IPD) in Sarawak has reported a "very unhealthy" Air Pollutant Index (API) reading of 204 as of 5pm today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, five other areas in Sarawak recorded "unhealthy" API levels. These areas are Kuching with a reading of 195, Samarahan at 182, Sri Aman recording 179, Sarikei at 158, and Sibu with an API of 152.

In addition to these reports, 36 areas across the nation recorded API readings at moderate levels, ranging from 51 to 100. Meanwhile, 26 areas reported good air quality levels, with readings below 50.

An API reading is categorized as follows: 0 to 50 indicates good air quality, 51 to 100 is moderate, 101 to 200 is considered unhealthy, 201 to 300 is very unhealthy, and any reading over 300 is deemed hazardous. API data is released every hour and is collected from 68 air quality monitoring stations across the country.
