Sg Golok Shooting Suspect Surrenders, Younger Brother Still At Large

Sungai golok: The suspect in the fatal shooting of a Malaysian citizen in Sungai Golok, Thailand, last Saturday is alleged to have carried out the attack with his younger brother. Kelantan police chief Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat stated that the suspect's brother fled following the attack and remains at large.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the main suspect, who is a former import player for the Kelantan football team, surrendered to Thai police yesterday. The suspect was arrested around 6 pm local time (7 pm in Malaysia). The authorities are investigating claims that the suspect holds dual citizenship, although he has no prior criminal record in Malaysia. Further investigations are ongoing, and the police are awaiting more details from their Thai counterparts, including the suspect's background.

Mohd Yusoff emphasized that both suspects are considered armed and dangerous, having brutally shot the victim. In response to the incident, the police have increased security measures at the Malaysia-Thailand border and have set up roadblocks to track down the suspect's younger brother, who remains at large. The incident has heightened tensions in the area, prompting security forces to remain vigilant.

BERNAMA reported that the Malaysian man was shot dead at about 7 pm on Saturday at his house in Sungai Golok town. The investigation into this case continues as authorities work to bring all involved parties to justice.
