Makkah: Sheikh Saleh bin Hamid, an esteemed figure in Islamic scholarship and religious leadership, has left an indelible mark on the religious landscape through his profound contributions and exemplary service. Born in Buraidah in the Qassim region in 1369 AH, Sheikh Saleh's lineage traces back to the prominent Bani Khalid tribe, and his upbringing was profoundly influenced by his father, Sheikh Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Hamid. According to Union of OIC News Agencies, Sheikh Saleh bin Hamid's journey in religious education began with the memorization of the Quran in Buraidah, which he completed with Tajweed at the Grand Mosque under the guidance of renowned scholars. He was among the first graduates of the Holy Quran Memorization Society in Makkah, establishing a foundation for his future endeavors in Islamic jurisprudence and education. Sheikh Saleh's academic pursuits were marked by a significant shift from medicine to Sharia studies. After a brief period in Shiraz, Iran, he returned to Makkah to join th e College of Sharia and Islamic Studies, graduating with top honors. His postgraduate studies at Umm Al-Qura University further solidified his expertise in Islamic jurisprudence, culminating in his doctoral thesis on "Removing Hardship in Islamic Sharia." His role as Imam and Preacher at the Grand Mosque began as a volunteer and soon became official. Sheikh Saleh was appointed Imam and Preacher in 1404 AH, and he has since been a pivotal figure in delivering daily lessons on faith, jurisprudence, and history at the Grand Mosque. His dedication to education extended beyond Makkah, as he continued teaching in Riyadh and participating in scientific conferences globally. In addition to his religious duties, Sheikh Saleh has held various administrative roles, including President of the Supreme Judicial Council and Chairman of the Shura Council.
