Shopping Complex, Supermarkets In Kuala Terengganu To Close Business On First Day Raya – MBKT

Kuala Terengganu: All shopping complexes, hypermarkets, and supermarkets under the jurisdiction of the Kuala Terengganu City Council (MBKT) are ordered to close on the first day of Aidilfitri. As for fast food outlets and 24-hour grocery stores such as 7-Eleven, Treleaf Mart, Eco Shop, and DIY, the closure is mandated from 12.01 am until 1 pm, stated Kuala Terengganu Mayor Datuk Rosli Latiff.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the directive aims to respect the Aidilfitri celebration and provide Muslim workers the opportunity to perform Hari Raya prayers. Datuk Rosli Latiff emphasized the importance of compliance with the regulations set by MBKT and warned that failure to adhere could lead to enforcement actions under relevant laws.

Rosli confirmed that notices regarding the directive have been distributed to the management of the affected premises. Additionally, announcements were made on social media platforms, including Facebook, to ensure the public is well-informed and can make necessary preparations for Aidilfitri. He reiterated MBKT's request for cooperation from business owners and operators in adhering to the closure directive.
