Kuala lumpur: Asia Pacific participants from the China International Press Communication Centre (CIPCC) programme embarked on a memorable six-day journey through Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, beginning with an early morning departure from Beijing to Nanning. Accompanied by Counsellor Huang Liming and Third Secretary Wang Weiran from China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the group arrived to a warm welcome from Ruan Hang, Director of News and Culture Division in Guangxi's Foreign Affairs Office.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the visit included a variety of cultural and industrial experiences. In Nanning, participants explored local culture and businesses, including Runjian Co. Ltd and Beibu Gulf International Port Group, which showcased their projects in Malaysia. The day concluded with a sunset dinner hosted by Song Hai Jun, Deputy Director-General of the Guangxi Foreign Affairs Office.
In Liuzhou, the group attended the opening ceremony of the 22nd China-ASEAN Expo and the China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit, where Malaysia's Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, delivered a keynote address. The visit continued with a cultural immersion at a Dong ethnic minority restaurant and tours of industrial sites such as the SAIC-GM-Wuling Baojun base automotive plant and Guangxi No. Wang Food Technology Co., Ltd.
The journey's final stop was Guilin, where participants enjoyed scenic beauty with a boat ride on the Lijiang River and visits to cultural hubs such as West Street and Yulong village. The trip concluded with a visit to the Osmanthus Commune, where the group learned about the flower's significance and enjoyed a 15% discount on Osmanthus products.
The trip, meticulously organized by China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, provided participants with rich cultural experiences and a deeper understanding of Guangxi's development and international engagement. As the group returned to Beijing, they carried with them not only souvenirs and stories but also an appreciation for China's hospitality and efficiency.
