Putrajaya: The six key government measures announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in conjunction with the National Day Prime Minister's Address today are seen as benefiting all segments of society, including the M40 group, youths, and small businesses.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, private-sector company secretary Mohd Aliff Rino, 26, expressed that the announcements provided relief to the people, particularly the decision to restore the basic eligibility for the Budi MADANI RON95 (BUDI95) programme from 200 litres to 300 litres per month. "In my view, the six measures cover all segments of society and communities. Some are for companies, while others are for the people. The 300-litre BUDI95 allocation is good, especially for vehicle users, as the people will not have to worry as much about filling up for their daily needs," he said when met after watching the address at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) here today.
Meanwhile, his sister Nur Liyana, 24, a private-sector accounts assistant, described the initiative involving artificial intelligence (AI) as a good move, given that the technology is becoming increasingly important in daily life, particularly for students. "AI is very helpful, especially for students. I use AI myself and it has had a positive impact on us, helping greatly with various tasks," she said.
For Iqbal Hakimi Kaharudin, 24, who works in private-sector procurement, the increase in the BUDI95 allocation to 300 litres per month was good news for vehicle users and could help ease the burden somewhat for those who need to travel long distances for their daily affairs.
Earlier, when delivering the National Day Prime Minister's Address, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced six key measures, including free three-month subscriptions to three AI applications for 100,000 youths aged 18 to 30 who complete the modules under the AI for the People programme.
Anwar also announced that the allocation for the maintenance of all types of schools in 2027 would be increased by 50 per cent to RM1.5 billion, in addition to the RM200 million Geran Sejahtera MADANI to assist hawkers, night market traders, and mothers running businesses from home.
The government will also increase microfinancing facilities by RM1 billion, bringing the total funding for 2026 to RM6 billion, besides raising the e-Invoice exemption threshold from RM1 million to RM3 million annually and increasing the Budi Diesel quota from 300 litres to 400 litres per month.
