Six Men Arrested For Illegal Gold Mining Activities In Pahang

Temerloh: A local man, along with five Indonesian workers, were arrested on suspicions of mining gold illegally in Kampung Bolok, Temerloh. General Operations Force (GOF) Southeast Brigade commander SAC Ahmad Radzi Hussain said the men, aged between 25 and 38, were arrested in a joint operation with the Pahang state enforcement unit at 8 am last Saturday.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the operations team seized two excavators, a lorry, a water pump, and pans worth over RM1.14 million. These items were confiscated during the operation, highlighting the scale of the illegal mining activities taking place in the region.

The seized items were handed to the Pahang state enforcement unit while the suspects were taken to the Temerloh district police headquarters for further action. These developments indicate the authorities’ commitment to cracking down on illegal mining operations that threaten the environment and violate local laws.

The case is currently under investigation under Section 158 of the Pahang State Minerals Enactment 2001, as well as Section 55(b) and 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63. These legal frameworks are being applied to ensure that those involved are held accountable for their actions.
